About the time they turn 13, young boys start to evolve into young men. They grow bigger and stronger and give some indications of what type of adults they’ll become. The same may be true for trade shows, based upon the continued development of the 13-year-old Green Industry Expo (GIE).
The 2002 version of this show drew more than 7,000 industry professionals to Nashville, Tenn., for four days of educational conferences and trade show shopping. (Of those 7,000 individuals, more than 5,500 of them were actual attendees, to go along with about 1,500 exhibitor personnel.) Plans for the 2003 GIE Show, to be held Nov. 5-8 in St. Louis, Mo., are already well underway, but the GIE management is looking well beyond this year’s show.
To that end, the GIE board unveiled a new identity package complete with a new tag line and logo for the show’s future. The new slogan is “Professional Products, People and Ideas.”
“True to the GIE board’s evaluation of the industry and the show’s strategic plan, we feel that the new tag line is more revealing of the true essence of what the trade show represents,” explained Jon Cundiff, GIE board president. “GIE is about the green industry coming together to advance professionalism, to educate its members, to provide networking among professionals and suppliers, and to launch new technology.”
