Girard Environmental Services (GES), a full-service landscaping company based in Seminole County, recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary. The company was founded in 1998 by brothers Rick and Randy Girard.
Through their collaboration, GES has achieved an average annual growth rate of 36 percent since its inception, with this year’s revenue exceeding $22 million. Ranked as one of the top 100 landscaping companies in the country for the past four years by both U.S. by both Lawn & Landscape and Landscape Management magazines, GES currently employs more than 220 full-time employees and operates a fleet of more than 110 vehicles.
“The products and services that we provide are not uncommon,” said Rick Girard, chief executive officer of the company. “What’s uncommon is the way that we do business.”
In 2008, GES embarked on its most aggressive growth plans to date, opening branch locations throughout the state of Florida, and continuing on its path to become a regional powerhouse. Currently, the company does not have any plans to grow outside of Florida.
“We are taking full advantage of all the opportunities being presented to us as a direct result of the toll the current economy has taken on our competitors,” said Randy Girard, president of GES. “Many of those companies have been forced to make cut backs, and their quality of work and customer service has slipped. So, we simply have been able to increase our market share by keeping up our high work standards and good customer service.”
