Grassroots Organization to Hold Second Natural Lawn Show in January

The Grassroots Healthy Lawn Program will host the event with educational sessions for lawn care professionals.

The second Grassroots Natural Lawn Show will be held at the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, Pocantico Hills, N.Y., on Jan. 18th, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The show, open to landscape professionals and the public at no charge, is part of the Grassroots Healthy Lawn Program, a multi-faceted educational initiative developed by Grassroots Environmental Education, a nonprofit organization, and conducted in association with Westchester County, N.Y. The privately funded program is designed to alter the market forces of supply and demand for natural lawn care by helping landscapers develop natural lawn care programs and encouraging consumers to utilize those programs.

Manufacturers and suppliers of natural lawn care products from around the country will be at the show to demonstrate their latest offerings, including state-of-the-art soil testing technology, organic fertilizers, compost tea brewers and natural pest control products. Turf professionals will offer hour-long seminars for landscaping professional throughout the day on various aspects of natural lawn care. (Landscapers can earn DEC re-certification credits by attending these seminars; there is a nominal fee and registration is appreciated.)
