Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently met with a small group of CLCA leaders and individuals representing several green industry firms including Peter Sortwell of Arborwell. Guests of the event were given an opportunity to introduce their company to the governor and participate in an open dialogue about the current industry shortage of both entry level and managerial employees.
The governor made clear his support for comprehensive immigration reform in Washington as well as renewed emphasis on vocational education in California. Governor Schwarzenegger reviewed some of his accomplishments while in office and his goals for the next four years. He also spoke movingly to the group about his experiences as a new immigrant to America and if America embraces its immigrants they in turn make the country stronger.
