Educational sessions planned for New England Grows 2009 include advice for making profits “on the fringe” by breaking into “hot” new areas such as green roofs and biodegradable pots. Innovative landscape designer Ben Falk of Whole Systems Design will present strategies for developing adaptive landscapes in this time of rising resource costs. A session led by business consultant Roger Fisher will help business owners find ways to save money by using leaner operating principles.

Award-winning landscape contractor Christy Webber will share powerful and sustainable strategies for operating successfully in the new economy. A session on plant promotion for nursery owners will focus on low cost, easy techniques for marketing plants to customers that go “beyond branding.”
