Syngenta Professional Products announced the newly redesigned and enhanced GreenCast (www.greencastonline.com). GreenCast is an online portal that offers its users free access to a wealth of valuable information to help them make more informed business decisions. The new enhancements were created to help lawn care operators learn more about pest management and how to achieve superior turf conditions to better run their business. Some of the updated features include an improved pest library, informative podcasts, and product calculators.
Pest Outlooks, an enhanced feature, provides lawn care operators with insight about potential and probable pest outbreaks and gives them the opportunity to show the customer their knowledge and resourcefulness. Users can receive customized e-mail alerts when pests in their area reach a certain threshold that users specify.
One of the major new enhancements to GreenCast is a library of more than 100 pests— insects, diseases, and weeds (which includes information on biological, chemical and structural control methods of managing pests).Users have the ability to bookmark specific web pages to keep informed of weather forecasts that may predict how the demand for their services may be impacted by current weather conditions. Lawn care operators can also read feature articles about new trends in the industry and watch podcasts displaying expert knowledge by top university programs. Additional tools include:
- Soil temperature maps—easy to use maps that show which kinds of pests thrive in different temperature zones.
- E-learning module— online seminars to learn how to optimally use the products.
- TechNotes—technical information on topics ranging from disease prevention to insect detection
“We are committed to providing lawn care operators with the tools they need to enhance their operations through tools like GreenCast” said Bob Goglia, lawn market manager for Syngenta Professional Products. “We are constantly looking at new features and additions to GreenCast that are innovative, comprehensive, and help our customers be as productive and profitable as possible.”
GreenCast users can customize the site to display only the tools and resources they choose for their operation. In addition, the site has specific pages dedicated to the golf, lawn and landscape, and ornamental markets so industry professionals can find information relevant to their markets faster. Registration is easy and free. Simply visit the Web site (www.greencast.com), to set up a username and password, and personalize your view to access valuable information critical to your operation.
Syngenta is currently developing a new series of sprayer videos, which will available on GreenCast later in 2008.
