The conference, which featured delegates from more than 30 countries, spotlights academicians and practitioners and provides a forum to present their research findings to the international business community.
Cesare’s presentation and message to business owners and managers focused how owners and management can avoid becoming immersed in management theories that are too academic, cluttered, bureaucratic or impractical to incorporate into an existing organization.
In his presentation Cesare instructed delegates to focus on the “Triple A” – alignment, achievement and accountability – when they are required to make a decision:
- Alignment – Business alignment is key. For example, at the organizational level, decision makers must ensure that marketing, sales, estimating and operations are properly aligned for production efficiency.
- Achievement – Every decision must have a stated goal to track status. Goals will be more likely attained if key drivers are optimally aligned.
- Accountability – Performance expectations, follow-up and recognition must be layered into every business decision. This ensures that roles and responsibilities work toward goal achievement and remain in alignment.
“The conference was a wonderful event, well-organized with an impressive cross section of international attendees. It is always nice to share ongoing advances in management concepts with a respected and challenging group of diverse thinkers representing a broad array of organizations, viewpoints, and cultures.”
