Irrigation designer Russell Mitchell recently earned the Edwin J. Achievement Award for his leadership and lifetime service in the landscape industry.
“Our industry is fortunate to have individuals like Russ Mitchell, who are dedicated to the advancement of education and efficient water use in landscape design,” noted Richard Hunter, CEO of Hunter Industries. “Russ has spent more than 30 years in landscape irrigation, working as a professional designer and consultant. He has promoted modern water management practices and has helped influence public policy and consumer education on water use.”
Mitchell is a principal at Russell D. Mitchell & Associates – an irrigation consulting and design firm based in Walnut Creek, Calif. He and his staff have been involved in public landscape and golf course design projects throughout the world.
In 1970 Mitchell was one of the five founding members of the American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC).
