Husqvarna Marks Record Sales in ‘03

The manufacturer of outdoor power equipment attributes some of last year’s 30-percent increase in sales to growth in the commercial landscape market.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Husqvarna has announced that it achieved a company record sales increase in 2003. President David Zerfoss attributed the 30-percent increase from 2002 to Husqvarna’s Total Source Solution program taking hold in the dealer market, as well as sales growth in commercial landscape products.

“More and more retailers have begun to see the added value in working with Husqvarna as a Total Source partner because it improves their time management and profitability,” Zerfoss explained. “Our outstanding results for 2003 reflect the success of our Husqvarna power retailers.”

Also contributing to the results were Husqvarna’s increased sales in the commercial landscaper segment. The company introduced new products for the professional market and launched a nationwide sweepstakes that generated tens of thousands of entries for a prize package valued at more than $40,000.

Overall, the manufacturer added more than 50 new products to its Total Source product offering in 2003. The products provided additional opportunities for retailers to increase their sales and profits and for professionals and homeowners to select the Husqvarna product best suited for their needs.

In 2004, Husqvarna will maintain its focus on dealer support through the Total Source Solution, Zerfoss observed.
