HydroPoint Data Systems Hits Primetime

WeatherTRAK will be featured on home makeover shows on ABC and FOX networks.

Petaluma, Calif. – HydroPoint Data Systems announced that its WeatherTRAK irrigation product has been selected for fall shows from the ABC and FOX TV networks. WeatherTRAK will be featured first on the FOX program “Renovate My Family” on Sept. 20, at 9 p.m. Eastern time, and then later on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” which will air Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern.

“Renovate My Family” will profile the Cole-Reimer family and the renovation of their home in Lancaster, Calif., while “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will feature the remodel of the Grinnan family home in Redlands, Calif. HydroPoint partnered with Chino, Calif.-based IrrigatorTech to install the WeatherTRAK solution for both families. Among the upgrades made to the Cole-Reimer and Grinnan homes, the fully automated WeatherTRAK system will provide accurate, water conserving irrigation to ensure the continued health and beauty of the families’ new landscapes.

“WeatherTRAK solutions improve quality of life by allowing families to relax and enjoy their landscapes together,” said Chris Manchuck, vice president of business development for HydroPoint. “We’re pleased that WeatherTRAK was selected for ABC and FOX, knowing that our solution will provide deserving families with healthy, beautiful landscapes and reduce their water bills while also protecting and preserving local water resources.”

WeatherTRAK systems automatically adjust irrigation settings based on parameters including plant type, soil type, slope, sun exposure and changing local weather. No time-consuming ongoing manual adjustment is required.

Hosted by best-selling author Jay McGraw, FOX’s “Renovate My Family” visits families who have encountered some challenges along the way. ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” hosted by Ty Pennington, garnered an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Reality Program in its first season. Each episode features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house – every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping.
