I Want To Mow Your Lawn set to launch MOW app

The nonprofit's app is expected to go live on iPhone soon, with Android to follow.

I Want To Mow Your Lawn is preparing to launch a new mobile app designed to help volunteers more easily discover and respond to nearby lawn care requests.

The app, called MOW, is expected to go live on iPhone soon, with Android to follow.

Founded during the pandemic, I Want To Mow Your Lawn has grown into a nationwide 501(c)(3) nonprofit with nearly 2,000 volunteers across all 50 states providing free lawn care relief for older adults, veterans, and neighbors in need.

Built primarily as a volunteer coordination platform, MOW is intended to make service opportunities easier to surface and act on. Volunteers can browse nearby requests, listen to voicemail submissions, view AI-organized summaries of each situation and connect through privacy-protected calling and texting.

The app also includes a daily lawn-mowing puzzle game as a light engagement feature meant to keep volunteers connected between service visits.

“We’re trying to build better infrastructure around volunteer action,” says Brian Schwartz, founder of I Want To Mow Your Lawn. “There is meaningful demand for this kind of help, especially heading into spring, and our hope is that the app makes it easier for more people to step up and serve locally.”

I Want To Mow Your Lawn expects to share the direct App Store link once the iPhone version is officially approved and live.
