The green industry’s first consolidated employment resource is entering its second decade of life.
JOBS In Horticulture was launched back in 1993 to help individuals in their quest for industry-related careers. Until the publication’s birth, most lawn care employment opportunities were scattered among discipline-specific journals. And industry employers had to place multiple employment ads in a variety of publications to reach the candidate market.
But that changed when JOBS In Horticulture was introduced 10 years ago.
Published twice a month, the publication brings job opportunities to the attention of interested applicants. The range of employment categories includes landscaping, botanical gardens, growing, grounds management and sales.
“We have not attempted to track the number of employers and employees the publication and Web site have brought together,” shares Joan Ferrell, publisher of JOBS in Horticulture. “I know it is in the thousands from the feedback received in our office and what we hear at industry events is phenomenal.”
JOBS In Horticulture added a Web extension to its offerings in 1995, introducing an online job board and other related resources. Click here to visit the publication’s Web site.
