Irrigation Association Names New Officers

Zoldoske becomes IA president; Mills named president-elect.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – The Irrigation Association (IA) announced Wednesday that David Zoldoske, director of the Center for Irrigation Technology at California State University – Fresno, was named president of the association.

Zoldoske officially took leadership at the Irrigation Association’s Keynote breakfast Nov. 15 during the International Irrigation Show in Tampa, Fla., replacing Brian Vinchesi, president of Irrigation Consulting, Pepperell, Mass.

Ken Mills, vice president of Rain Bird Corp., Tuscon, Ariz., became the new president-elect. Doug York, president of Ewing Irrigation Products, Phoenix, Ariz., moved onto the Board of Directors Executive Committee as treasurer.

Other new board members are Jeffrey Carowitz, marketing vice president for Hunter Industries, San Marcos, Calif.; Mark Huntley, president of T-Systems International, San Diego, Calif.; and Mike Grundvig, vice president for the Western Division of Rain for Rent, Bakersfield, Calif.

Zoldoske, director of CIT since 1994, is taking the reins as president of the IA after nearly 20 years with the association. Zoldoske says as president he wants to make sure the IA is proactive as it continues to redefine itself to meet the challenges of the century, including water availability, water quality and energy usage.
