The Independent Turf & Ornamental Distributors Association (ITODA) kicked off the new year with a new leadership line-up. Brian Feury, vice president of The Terre Co. of New Jersey, Clifton, N.J., has been elected president of the ITODA Independent Turf and Ornamental Distributors Association. The Terre Co. is one of 10 charter members of ITODA and Feury had previously served two years as ITODA vice president, two years as secretary/treasurer, and one year as secretary. He succeeds Chris Petersen, President of Tom Irwin, Burlington, Mass. who will continue his service as past president.
"I look forward to building on the professional education, training and communications programs that ITODA offers its members,” Feury says. “We want to give value and provide leadership to our independent distributor members."
Other officers elected include Vice president Ned Herod, Herod Seeds, Richmond, Va., and Secretary/Treasurer Chad Will, Tenbarge Seed Co., Haubstadt, N.J.
New to the board of directors are Kevin Connelly, Landscape Supply, a Division of W.S. Connelly & Co., Roanoke, Va., and Art Assad of Agrisel USA, Atlanta, Ga., who was elected by the associate members to be their representative for a two-year term. Don Naumann of Sierra Pacific Turf Supply, Campbell, Calif., was appointed by the board for a one-year term.
During the Annual Membership meeting in October, outgoing President Chris Petersen thanked Mike Fisher, Fisher & Son Co., and Associate Director Wally Boilek from Becker Underwood for their dedicated service on the board. Boilek had represented associate members. Their terms ended Dec. 31.
ITODA is a national organization representing independently-owned businesses who sell to the turf and landscape industry, as well as the suppliers and manufacturers who sell to them. ITODA’s mission is to strengthen the independent distributors’ marketing position in the golf course, lawn care, landscape and ornamental horticulture plant protection markets through education, training, and communication.
