BOISE, Idaho - Jacklin Seed, a division of Simplot, has opened a new 53,000 square-foot processing, warehouse and distribution facility in Albany, Ore. The new operation, which includes two state-of-the-art blenders and baggers, is more than four times larger than Jacklin’s previous Albany facility.
Rich Underwood, formerly president of an Oregon-based seed company, was brought on as Operations Manager for the new facility last December. According to Underwood, the new operation is designed to increase productivity for enhanced customer service and satisfaction.
"Simplot now has the ability to store, blend and ship products from Oregon directly to customers in a very timely and efficient manner," Underwood said. "The new facility will allow better control over a more diverse inventory of turfgrass varieties as well as preformulated blends and mixtures."
The new facility is located at 3025 Kathryn St., Albany, Ore.
Simplot brings together several names in the industry, including Jacklin Seed®, JacklinGolf®, BEST®, Lange® and APEX® professional fertilizers.
