MIDLAND PARK, N.J. – Jacobsen Landscape Design & Construction won a second place award for best overall float in this year’s Ridgewood, N.J., July 4th Parade.
Staff from the design, production and maintenance departments created a float, keeping in mind this year’s theme: “And Our Flag Was Still There.” Company employees shaped red and white begonias, blue ageratum and dusty miller into two American flags and carried the moving flower beds via a fully restored 1948 antique Chevy flat bed truck.
Jacobsen Landscape also was awarded first place in the New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association awards for residential design/build over $100,000. The client’s goal was to create a landscaped recreation area that would allow family and friends to engage in a variety of activities while remaining together in a beautiful space.
The project, which is located in Ridgewood, N.J., maximized the use of the client’s backyard by incorporating a pool, a multi-purpose sports courts and entertainment areas to accommodate the client’s active social lives.
