Deere & Co. voluntarily recalled about 2,500 utility vehicles because of a safety hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
Deere recalled its John Deere Gator vehicle because the fuel tank can leak from a gap in the seam at the base of the filler neck, posing a fire hazard, the regulator said in a statement.
Deere shares rose $1.98, or 3.2 percent, to close at $63.19 Tuesday. The stock has ranged from $58 to $94.89 in the past year.
