New York, N.Y. – KokoBo Plantscapes is proud to announce that it is the recipient of the Professional Landcare Network’s (PLANET) Merit Award for Design and Installation of a Rooftop Garden.
“I am thrilled that this particular rooftop project has won the PLANET award,” said Michael Madarash, president of KokoBo Plantscapes. KokoBo was honored for the Stewart rooftop, a 200 square-foot renovation challenge that began with rusty utility units and an inclined roof. Through a raised deck plan, KokoBo’s designers not only maximized the limited space, but, provided the owners with an additional 32 square feet and a view of the Empire State Building.
“When I saw the space for the first time it was clear there would be many challenges in order to create what the homeowners were envisioning,” Madarash said. “At the same time, I saw huge potential for the space and ultimately was able to design and install the project above their expectations.”
PLANET’s Environmental Improvement Awards program is designed to recognize independent landscape contracting professionals and their outstanding projects. The Merit Award entries are judged on craftsmanship, relative contribution to the quality of the environment and overall excellence.
Award recipients will be recognized at PLANET’s Green Industry Conference Awards Banquet on Nov. 5, in Orlando, Fla.
