Bryan Kotwica of The Davey Tree Expert Company recently received the International Society of Arboriculture Award of Achievement for his role as the creator of graphics for ISA educational and training materials.
Kotwica, who is a foreman in Davey’s Northeast Chicago Residential/Commercial office, has illustrated for numerous publications and magazines, including Arborist News, The Art and Science of Practical Rigging and Tree Climber’s Guide. His drawings allow both arborists and non-arborists to describe industry details such as the intricacies of various knots, body positions and how a branch is attached to a tree.
