An Ohio company headed by a Lawn & Landscape magazine columnist was recently awarded the prestigious Eclipse Integrity Award from the Better Business Bureau. Martin Grunder, Jr., company president & CEO, accepted the award on behalf of Grunder Landscaping Co. at the annual awards ceremony in Dayton, Ohio, on May 13. Mark Allan of WDTN served as Master of Ceremonies. Miss Ohio 2007, Roberta Camp, spoke about character and leadership to a packed house representing businesses from across the Miami Valley.
The Eclipse Integrity Awards are presented to businesses that demonstrate significant, unique and continuous commitment to exceptional customer service, trust and fair play in the marketplace. The competition is divided into four categories, based on number of employees. Grunder Landscaping is the 2008 winner in the 21-50 Employee category.
In recognizing Grunder Landscaping, the Better Business Bureau cited the company’s excellent client practices and good corporate citizenship. “Our reputation speaks for itself and our team will tell you that integrity is what keeps our team together and it’s what enables us to continue to grow," Grunder says.
Grunder started his company with a $25 lawn mower bought at a garage sale to pay for college. Today, Grunder Landscaping Co. is one of Dayton’s largest landscapers and has won numerous awards for its work. The company continues to serve its original client more than 25 years since the first contact.
Grunder was in the news earlier this year when he and his wife, Lisa, hosted President Bush at a fundraising luncheon at their Sugarcreek Twp. home in March.
Grunder Landscaping has its headquarters in Miamisburg, Ohio.
