WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the overwhelming demand for landscape architecture services across the United States and around the world, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has developed a new Web area featuring information on how to become a landscape architect.

The main career discovery Web page links to rich resources for students of all ages, educators, guidance counselors, parents and other interested parties to explore the profession of landscape architecture. A new, four-color brochure targeting middle and high school students is now available and downloadable from the web site at no charge in PDF format.
The brochure includes:

Information on what landscape architecture is, what landscape architects do and why they are in such high demand;

Personal testimonials from landscape architects in different types of practice and areas of the country;

Photos of award-winning landscape architecture projects;

How to become a landscape architect;

How much landscape architects earn – nearly $75,000 a year on average, but experienced firm principals can earn much more; and

A quick quiz to help students determine if landscape architecture is right for them.
