Gainesville, Ga.-based New Leaf Landscape Services has received an Award of Distinction from the Metropolitan Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association at its 2008 Professional Landscape Awards banquet. The company was recognized for its design and installation of a major new landscape at the mountain home of Norm and Angie Moye in Dahlonega, Ga.
“Receiving this honor reflects well on our entire staff,” said Steve Murray, president and founder of New Leaf Landscape Services, which serves the greater Northeast Georgia area as a full-service design, installation and maintenance landscaping firm. “The project presented several opportunities to showcase our work, from creating year-round color to addressing drainage issues.”
The mountain home, nestled in the woods, is built in a cottage style. New Leaf designed a plan that would highlight the natural setting and be relatively maintenance free.
“The landscaping complements natural setting as well as the charming cottage-styled home,” Murray said. “Installation of a dry creek bed along the property line and a meandering cart path that runs from the driveway to the cart garage/pool house capitalized on the natural lay of the land and other features.”
The 2008 awards included 75 entries in 13 categories, encompassing installation, maintenance, seasonal color, green innovations and community service.
