BONAIRE, Ga. - Bass Custom Landscapes, Bonaire, Ga., uses a standard format for every proposal it presents. Company owner Tony Bass said this practice helps increase customers’ perception of the company’s value and services when compared to competitors’ proposals.
Every proposal the company prepares is eight to nine pages long. An abbreviated template derived from a sample Bass Custom Landscapes proposal is available by clicking here: Sample Landscape Construction Proposal.
Courtesy of Bass Custom Landscapes, the template is available for business owners to download and plug in their companies’ information. Items that companies should change within the document are marked in brackets with all capital letters (i.e. [CLIENT]), and sample information from Bass Custom Landscapes is shown on certain pages to give an idea of what to include. Business owners can play with the formatting and wording to customize the sample proposal to their needs.
The above proposal template includes:
- Cover sheet - restates the service or proposal requested;
- Company profile - provides an overview of the company;
- Company’s licenses and insurance information and references - shows names or projects that are similar to the proposed project;
- Company picture - shows professional staff;
- Services - includes special construction notes and details about the proposed project;
- Pricing sheet - includes prices of add-on services, even if not requested, to promote future add-on sales; and
- Guarantee document - statement in writing about what the customer can expect from the company.
Bass also includes a copy of his company’s monthly newsletter in each proposal as an added promotional effort.
