Landscape Design Exchange, a Web site providing plant information and project plan help, completed the acquisition of Landscapedia, previously owned by Maureen Decombe of Green Willow Gardens.
The company also completed the move to the new name. The site can be accessed at www.landscapedia.info, .com, .net, or .org.
Going forward, our primary focus of the company is to refine our current features and improve the amount and quality of the information.
"We look forward to creating a collaborative community that allows designers to learn from other designers, share ideas, and create unique spaces for clients.
Decombe will continue to be active in the Landscapedia community, lending her expert advice and experience as the company continues to grow and refine the site's features.
Originally used by a small group of designers to share plant information and create project plans, Landscape Design Exchange grew as more designers discovered it. After the launch of the iPhone version in February 2008 and acceptance into the Apple Web Apps directory, growth exploded. Now that the site merged with Landscapedia, it includes information on more than 34,000 plants, 2000 garden centers and 500 public gardens. Designers can research and source plants from their computer or while in the field via iPhone.
