LAKE FOREST, Calif. - Landscape Images - No. 26 on Interior Business’ Top 35 at $1.8 million - and Decorative Plant Service, San Francisco, have merged. The company, now a subsidiary of $8.1-million Decorative Plant Service, will retain its name and employees.
Landscape Images President Steve McCurdy, who moved to England in July 2000 to start a branch, decided that a merger was the best option in a difficult management situation. “We simply found it too difficult to manage two businesses across 6,000 miles and an eight-hour time difference,” McCurdy said. “While I am sad to leave behind all that we have built over the past 16 years, the merger represents the best choice for our staff, clients and reputation.”
McCurdy will stay with Landscape Images on a part-time basis for two months during the transition period.
For Decorative Plant Service - No. 4 on Interior Business’ Top 35 - the acquisition is part of the company’s strategic growth plan. “This is really an exciting move that will enable Decorative to cover all of California, from San Diego to the Oregon border,” said Larry Howard, corporate sales manager, Decorative Plant Service.
