Kearns has extensive horticultural experience in management and sales. He spent the past five years with John Deere, where he was responsible for a budget in excess of $50 million. He has sold insurance on a part-time basis since 2003.

Kearns joins long-time friend and insurance veteran Charlie “Bubba” Brown at International Insurance Brokerage, which Brown founded in 2001.

“I am delighted and honored to have Tim join me on a full-time basis. He brings a great deal of management and sales expertise to our firm, and he has an excellent reputation among his peers in the Green Industry and in the community,” Brown said.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to combine my background in the horticultural business with Charlie’s more than 25 years of experience and leadership in the insurance industry,” Kearns says.

“By combining our expertise, we are uniquely qualified to work with Green Industry companies, providing them with a reliable partner that not only understands the insurance business, but also the challenges and risks they face each day.  Most important of all, we understand what it takes to protect them financially,” he adds.

Kearns has been on the board of directors for both the Tennessee Nursery and Landscape Association and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.  He currently serves on the board of directors for the Carnton Mansion and on the Historic Zoning Commission for the City of Franklin.  He and his wife and two daughters live in Franklin, and in his spare time he participates in triathlons.
