Landscape Workshop has acquired Brummel Lawn & Landscape, marking the company’s expansion into Missouri with the Kansas City Market.
Brummel co-founder and CEO Nick Brummel has joined the LW team in a senior role, and all Brummel employees are joining the LW team.
“We are very pleased to establish our presence in the Kansas City market with the addition of Brummel to the Landscape Workshop family,” says J.T. Price, CEO of Landscape Workshop. “Expanding into Kansas City is a priority, and we’re excited to continue that momentum. Nick and I have been friends for years, and have worked together on the National Association of Landscape Professionals Board to fight for the industry. I am glad to have him as my business partner as well as my friend.”
“Having Brummel Lawn join the Landscape Workshop family opens doors for both our clients and team members. I’m extremely excited and proud of this next chapter," Brummel says. “As I looked at where Brummel was and where we needed to go in Kansas City, I got to know J.T. and the team at Landscape Workshop. I saw what they’ve done and how they operate, and it just felt like the right fit. It’s the right way to help our team grow and better serve our customers in ways we couldn’t before.
“What really stood out is how hands-on everyone is — something you don’t often see with private equity-backed companies," Brummel adds. "That level of involvement gives us a level of confidence and potential for success that I haven’t seen elsewhere in the industry. Joining forces is going to be amazing, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve together.”
Landscape Workshop, which ranks No. 27 on Lawn & Landscape's Top 100 list, operates across 40 Southeastern markets, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Landscape Workshop is backed by Ares Management Corporation. Legal counsel for Landscape Workshop in this transaction was provided by Stuart Maxey, Butler Sparks, and Ben Glicklich of Bradley Arant. Warren Averett acted as financial advisor to Landscape Workshop.
