Connecticut Landscapers Must Disclose Affiliations

The new law took effect July 1.

Public Act 09-18 requires Connecticut landscapers, who are registered with the state as home improvement contractors, to include a provision in their contracts disclosing business affiliations in their contracts. A firm must disclose whether it was a shareholder, member, partner or owner in every corporation, LLC, partnership, sole proprietorship or other legal entity that is (or has been) a home-improvement or new home construction contractor within the past five years.
