When arborist Wesley White and landscaper Bruce White decided to form a three-business co-op with an erosion-control and irrigation company. They had a difficult time finding just the right person.
“We had a hard time finding someone who was willing to be tree-friendly,” said White, president of Fredericksburg Tree Care.
It wasn’t until last May that the friends formed the co-op business, Warp Drive, after working with erosion and irrigation expert Jeff Hopkins of Fredericksburg.
The trio of companies – Fredericksburg Tree Care, Hopkins Irrigation and Erosion Control, and Harvest Tree Co., run by White – share office in Fredericksburg at 8511 Indian Hills Court.
They say working together under one company name is convenient because they can conduct both Warp Drive and individual company business in the same office.
“We can come in and work together as a group,” explained Bruce White, Warp Drive’s vice chairman. “Scheduling is easier and we can share equipment.”
White and Warp Drive’s chairman, Wesley White, came up with that name because they expect their combined efforts to help projects move at “warp drive” speed.
