A landscaping supply company plans to create 212 jobs in the next three years as it opens a manufacturing and distribution plant in Nash County, N.C.
Governor Easley made the announcement Thursday about Hanes Geo-Components, a subsidiary of Winston-Salem-based Hanes Companies.
It plans to build a 200,000 square-foot operation in Middlesex. The company makes grass seed, fertilizer, pesticides and other erosion control equipment.
Average wages for the new jobs will be $642 per week, which is higher than average for the county.
The company also received $212,000 from the One North Carolina Fund, a taxpayer-funded incentives grant program.
