INDIANAPOLIS - At a special reception Sun., Nov. 5, 2000, evening at the Green Industry Conference, Lawn & Landscape Media Group and The Chipco Professional Products group of Aventis Environmental Science presented the second annual Leadership Awards.
The 2000 winners are:
- Bob Andrews - The Greenskeeper, Carmel, Ind.: Andrews has succeeded at building a thriving lawn care business and aiding in expanding industry networking and education through association development.
- Gary Clayton - All Green, Marietta, Ga.: Clayton’s wide range of industry experience covers legislation to lawn care, and his commitment to education led him to the lectern.
- Russell Frith - Lawn Doctor, Holmdel, N.J.: Strategy took Frith’s business to the top, while life lessons kept his outlook grounded.
- Ron Kujawa - Kujawa Enterprises, Cudahy, Wis.: After more than 30 years in the landscape business, Kujawa continues to set an example of industry excellence from his home base in Milwaukee.
- Tom Lied - Lied’s Landscape Design & Development, Sussex, Wis.: With a name like “Lied,” how could this man not help drive the industry forward?
- George Morrell - The Morrell Group, Atlanta, Ga.: Morrell’s efforts played a big part in the development of one of the industry’s biggest markets, and now he’s pursuing more meaningful contributions.
- Linda Novy - Gardeners’ Guild, San Rafael, Calif.: A backyard gardener at heart with a reverence for the environment, Novy is a natural leader.
- J. Landon Reeve - Chapel Valley Landscape, Woodbine, Md.: Even shyness didn’t stop “Reeve from building a $20-million landscape business and challenging himself to join associations and become a key industry player.
- Wayne Richards - Cagwin & Dorward, Novato, Calif.: Richards rehearsed his industry talent in the classroom and performed it in the boardroom.
