Lawn & Landscape Top 100: Where Do You Come In?

Lawn & Landscape is starting to compile information for its 2005 list of the top 100 lawn and landscape contractors. Make sure your company doesn’t go unnoticed.

Now that most companies have closed the books on 2004, Lawn & Landscape is getting ready to compile its annual Top 100 list of the largest lawn and landscape companies by revenue. A staple of Lawn & Landscape’s yearly State of the Industry Report, the Top 100 tracks industry growth and gives a rundown of the landscape companies nationwide that anchor the green industry.

 

Since its debut as the “Top 50” list in 1997, the Top 100 list has grown to include companies from around the country with major services representing everything from chemical lawn care and maintenance, to landscape architecture, to tree care and irrigation. The 2004 Top 100 included 24 companies from the inaugural list, including (alphabetically):

Of course, these companies’ longevity doesn’t mean the playing field isn’t wide open regarding who makes the list. Last year, four companies made the list for the first time, including:

  • Eastside Nursery, Groveport, Ohio
  • Gachina Landscape Management, Menlo Park, Calif
  • U.S. Lawns, Orlando, Fla. (revenue was formerly included with ValleyCrest)

In the past, everything from profitable snow removal seasons to lack of labor has moved companies up or down the list, so all green industry companies regardless of size are encouraged to submit their information.
