Lawn & Landscape magazine picked up seven awards at the 17th annual Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association meeting in Napa, Calif. Among these were three first place awards.
Creative Director Mark Rook won first place in Electronic Publishing – Overall Lawn & Landscape Web Design and Printed Magazines – Single Page Design/Edit, while former Web Editor Lauren Spiers took first pace in the Writing for Commercial Publications – Ornamental Features category.
Spiers also received a Merit award for Writing for Commercial Publications: Business Management. Deputy Editor Nicole Wisniewski won a Merit Award for Special Projects.
The other two Merit Awards went to Art Director Karen Angus for her work on Lawn Care Professional, which is produced by Lawn & Landscape's parent company, GIE Media, Inc. The awards were for Printed Magazines – Cover Page Design and Printed Magazines – Overall Magazine Design.
This was the 13th consecutive year TOCA has recognized Lawn & Landscape as an award-winning publication.
“Lawn & Landscape is committed to writing, designing and publishing the highest quality magazine for the landscape industry,” says Editorial Director Cindy Code. “These industry awards spotlight the talents of our writers and designers and our long-term commitment to the professional landscape marketplace.”
Another GIE publication, Golf Course News, also fared well. It received three first place and three other awards.
