- Project: The Ultimate Back Yard Oasis
- Total man hours to complete: 2,000
- Synopsis: The setting was ideal – a back yard overlooking acres of the Ben Avon valley – but the yard was lackluster. The Logan family of Avonworth Heights, Pa., dreamed of creating an ultimate back yard getaway with all of the amenities – a swimming pool, an outdoor living area, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, and play space for the kids. The challenge included excavating and grading to create the necessary space for the pool and outdoor living area. Using primarily a small skid loader and a back hoe for the pool, approximately 2,000 cubic yards of materials was excavated and relocated on site. No material was brought in or taken off site. The result was a larger, more functional, beautiful, usable space.
