CLEVELAND - In an effort to divide current management responsibilities, LESCO, Inc. announced that it has appointed a new president and chief operating officer (COO), effective today.
Michael P. DiMino, 43, joins the company in this newly created position, the company said. He will work closely with the chairman and chief executive officer, Willam A. Foley, who previously held the position of president.
DiMino is responsible for day-to-day operations, with sales and marketing and product supply and information services deivsions reporting directly to him. The company explained that this frees Foley to focus on LESCO's strategic direction.
"As LESCO has grown, the need to reapportion senior management responsibilities has become clear," Foley related. "In Michael DiMino, we have found the right person, in terms of both background and philosophy, for the critically important position of leadership."
DiMino began his career in 1980 as a sales representative at American Hospital Supply then moved on to hold sales and marketing positions with United Health Care company. In 1988 he started at Uniforms to You, a Chicago-based division of Cintas Corporation, as senior vice president of sales and marketing and worked his way up to president and COO.
"My immediate objectives are to continue building the (LESCO) brand and to improve profitability to create value for shareholders," DiMino asserted. "I've spent 13 years in a vertically oriented, customer-driven company with a high-service mentality, and that describes LESCO."
