Valvette Systems Corporation, manufacturer of the “LittleValve” product line, recently received its final testing results from the Center for Irrigation Technology. The tests were conducted in December 2002 at the center’s facility on the campus of California State University in Fresno, Calif.
The results of the day-long testing conclude that using LittleValve products contributes to significant savings in both labor and water when heading up new jobs, maintaining existing sprinkler heads, adjusting heads to eliminate overspray and by replacing pop-up riser stems with LittleValve riser stems.
The time and water savings are attributed to: 1) the ability to shut down each sprinkler for nozzle or head cleaning or replacement while the system is running; 2) the full control the technician has over each sprinkler to eliminate overspray, and the amount of water being flushed during line and head cleaning operations; 3) the fact that pop-up risers stay in the ‘UP’ position with the nozzle removed while the water is running and 4) the inherent design that causes Little Valve replacement pop-up risers to emit 13 to 16 percent less water than do original riser stems.
