GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --The Engines and Power Products Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. has announced the addition of Todd Burton to its team of applications engineers based at the division’s headquarters.
Burton, who has considerable experience in the commercial vehicle industry, will join a group of engineers working under Troy Smith, applications engineering supervisor. His responsibilities will primarily entail the coordination of new product development between Kawasaki and various original equipment manufacturers.
He will conduct application reviews for specific OEMs and provide technical support for the development of new engine specifications and OEM field-testing.
The new staff addition has worked with various OEMs on automated mechanical transmission systems engineering, as well as a resident engineer working on implementation of emissions tier engines. Burton also spent several years as a diesel engine calibration engineer.
Among the companies he’s worked with are Eaton Corporation, International Truck & Engine Co., Ford Motor Company, and General Motors.
Burton has a B.S.M.E. from Kettering University in Flint, Mich., where he also served for two years as a leader of the university’s challenge team during the SAE Clean Snowmobile contest.
According to Smith, the department supervisor, “his expertise will be a great addition to the applications engineering team and we anticipate him being instrumental in providing Kawasaki’s OEMs with engineering support.”
