Laytonsville, MD – Ruppert Landscape promoted Mike Monde to the newly created position of director of culture and procedures within the company’s landscape management division. The company also promoted Tim Schofield to the position of branch manager in the company’s King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, landscape management branch.
“One of the greatest challenges we face as the company continues to grow is that the culture that has made us successful thus far will become harder to maintain,” said Tom Barry, president of the landscape management division. “In his new role, Mike will leverage his wealth of experience to ensure that our culture, our commitment to our people and customers and the quality of our work remains as strong as ever.”
Monde has more than 25 years of landscape industry experience and holds a degree in business administration from Delaware Valley College. He has been with the company for almost 18 years, having joined the company in 1995 as branch manager of the New Castle, Delaware, branch. He helped to build Ruppert’s Pennsylvania operations leading up to the sale of the company in 1998. When Ruppert returned to the industry in 2003, Monde rejoined to serve as a branch manager in Pennsylvania to rebuild the branch from scratch. Over the next decade, Monde and his team built the Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania, branch into a full-scale operation. By 2014, the branch team split to form the King of Prussia branch. Monde transitioned the leadership of the Toughkenamon branch to his colleague, Garth Jorgensen, as he set out to build the King of Prussia branch.
“Mike possesses extensive operational knowledge, incredible work ethic and leadership skills, and a willingness to help others succeed, which makes him well-suited to tackle the myriad challenges that this new role will present,” Barry said.
As a director of culture and procedures for the landscape management division, Monde will report to the division president and will focus on leadership development training, mentorship, recruiting, job quality inspections, new facility setup and facilitating Field Day events.
Schofield will now serve as branch manager at Ruppert’s King of Prussia landscape management branch. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware where he triple-majored in food and agribusiness marketing and management, landscape horticulture and design, and agriculture and natural resources. He began a career at Ruppert in 2015 as a field manager in the Laytonsville landscape management branch, where he was quickly promoted to area manager. In this position, he earned the company’s Branch Impact Award in 2016 for his contributions to the branch. By 2017, he was promoted to financial analyst for the landscape management division.
As a branch manager he will be responsible for the overall welfare of the King of Prussia branch, including the safety and development of his team, strategic planning and budgeting, training, and day-to-day operations.
