Hines adds new accounts executive

Wendy Klusendorf will manage and develop sales and marketing programs for Walmart and Sam’s Club.

Hines Growers has added Wendy Klusendorf to its sales organization to manage and develop sales and marketing programs for Walmart and Sam’s Club nationally, and Home Depot in the Midwest and East.

“Wendy’s extensive nursery experience in strategic retail program development brings an in-depth understanding of year-round marketing programs, packaging and promotions,” says Joe Gray, senior vice president of Hines.

“That background coupled with Hines’ plant selections and programs will guide us in creating winning solutions for our customers and boost end-user sales,” he adds.

Prior to joining Hines, Klusendorf was an account manager at Nurseryman’s Exchange.
“Hines is bringing enjoyment back into gardening with branded programs that make it easy to have success,” says Klusendorf. “Its vision is to help everyone, from novices to seasoned gardeners, grow beautiful flowering plants that are easy to maintain and right on target with consumer trends.”

According to Gray, Hines is leaning into a strong growth cycle and regaining market share with strategic planning to expand and grow their business.

“New products, new programs and new packaging like Bloomtastic! and Patio Tropics are game-changers spear-heading the growth of our business,” he says.

Gray says that retailers will find that their branded Bloomtastic! and Patio Tropics containers, along with tags, Q-R codes and signage, make it easy for immediate consumer recognition that will boost retail sales.

“Wendy’s joining us at the perfect time,” he says. “Her marketing savvy, product knowledge, and excellent relationships with key customers provide a huge benefit to Hines and our customers.”
