Hildebolt outlines roadmap to entrepreneurship in new book

The former PLANET president uses personal experience and stories from leaders in the industry to offer guidance.

In his new book “The Professional Entrepreneur: When Cowboys Grow Up,” Bill Hildebolt offers a roadmap to entrepreneurial success.

There are more than 21 million businesses in the United States, meaning one out of every 10 adults is the head of an entrepreneurial enterprise. Every year another 500,000 businesses start. And as many businesses fail each year as get started.

The former PLANET president and successful businessman uses his personal experience from years spent in the corporate world as well as running his own company and stories from top entrepreneurs from across the landscaping and lawn care industry to offer guidance and advice to entrepreneurs.

“Hildebolt succeeds in exploring and defining what entrepreneurs have in common with depth and understanding. His combined experience in the corporate world and as a leader in the (real) green industry gives him a unique perspective,” said Richard Heller, president of Greener By Designs. “The way he synthesizes this with the example ‘propreneurs’ in the book is educational and enlightening in that he illustrates not only how the typical entrepreneur starts and creates a successful business in various elements of the industry, but also how ‘propreneurs’ can harness the resources of larger institutions and break new ground.”

All proceeds from the sale of the book go directly to the PLANET Academic Excellence Foundation.
