Tom and Karen Grosh, the owners of Grosh's Lawn Service in Clear Spring, Maryland, sponsored the 2015 Michael L. Reid Volunteer of the Year Award. The award was handed out during the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company's awards banquet on Jan. 30.
The recipient, Zachary P. Reid, covered 883 hours as the designated duty driver between May 14 and Dec. 31 of 2015. This amount was the third most hours given by a driver and it saved the fire company more than $11,373 in wages, taxes, workers comp., etc.
Over the past year, Reid has taken on most of the daily emergency scene responsibilities as well.
Along with the award, Reid received a check for $250 towards a Class A uniform.
