PGMS releases industry guide

FOREST HILL, Md. – The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has released to its members "A guide to grounds management best practices." This guide will serve as a primary source of best practices in the green industry, including examples of specific practices and advice on how to implement them.

This publication suggests and presents practices that will be specific to the business of grounds management and show examples of how and where these practices are working for organizations striving to stay current with sustainability demands and those that realize the many benefits to be gained from appropriately benchmarking grounds operations.

"Critical to the fulfillment of the sustainability goals affixed to any particular sector that has a grounds component is the effective and responsible management of its various functioning parts," said PGMS President Marion Bolick, CGM.

Initially, this extensive educational document will be available to PGMS members only through the PGMS website.

"PGMS has always been at the forefront of industry trends, changes and expansions. This guide emphasizes the grasp of understanding we have on our ever-changing profession and the interest our association has in holding our industry to the highest standard. Our members and board of directors are truly leaders for a sustainable future," said Bolick.

The new PGMS "A guide to grounds management best practices" will also be used by the Society as part of its expanding landscape management and operations accreditation program.
