The Ohio Landscape Association is hosting a clinic to help members enhance their skills when it comes to dressing stone.
During the hands-on clinic, members will learn rockfacing, cutting, dressing, coping, splitting and tooling, as well as the difference between sandstone and limestone and their different varieties and grades that require different techniques.
Chris Pascoe, a master stone mason with more than 25 years of experience in the industry, will teach the class. Pascoe studied in England before traveling to the United States to work on the Cathedral St. John The Devine in New York City.
The class will take place March 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tri-R-Stone in Garfield Heights.
A continental breakfast and lunch are included with each registration. Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase quality stoneworking tools in advance of the clinic.
The class size is limited to 24 participants. Those who register by mail, fax, phone or online by Feb. 17 will receive a discount.
