VISTA, Calif. – Heaviland Landscape Management celebrated a milestone 30 years of business with a celebration on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Karl Strauss Brewery in Sorrento Mesa.
In attendance were clients, staff members, colleagues within the commercial landscape industry, vendors and elected officials, including the honorable Judy Ritter, mayor of Vista; Michael Hadland, chief of staff for Assembly member Rocky Chavez; Kristen Rahmeyer, San Diego County district representative for State Senator Patricia Bates; and Haley Peterson, director of community affairs for San Diego County Supervisor Bill Horn.
Mayor Ritter formally presented a proclamation from the City of Vista to honor Tom Heaviland, president of Heaviland Landscape Management. Following the honor, Heaviland made some short remarks to attendees.
“This speech is going to be mostly thank-you’s because as you know, nobody travels through 30 years of business without a lot of help along the way,” said Heaviland, who started the company with his late father, Ron and stepmother, Jane, in March 1985. He concluded his remarks by sharing gratitude for his wife of 28 years, Joanne, his daughter, Gianna, and his son, Christian, who has recently joined the family business as a division manager.
