The Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association, along with other state organizations, will celebrate Ohio Green Industry Advocacy Day Feb. 22.
ONLA is asking members to join them in Columbus to meet with and tell legislators about the important role the green industry plays in the state. Here are some key reasons why ONLA says green industry professionals should take advantage of advocacy days:
• Make Membership Count – A key benefit of your association is the government advocacy
it provides and your ability to meet with legislators on behalf of the industry. Here’s your
opportunity to carry the message and have an impact on legislation that will affect green
industry businesses. It only works if you get involved.
• Build Relationships – Changing majorities and new faces in the legislature require Ohio’s
green industry to continuously educate elected officials about our businesses and our needs.
You are needed to help get to know these individuals. Only you can influence your legislator.
• Budget Cuts – The State of Ohio faces its tightest budget in decades. Learn what these
budget cuts might mean for your business.
• Legislation – Learn about newly introduced bills that will impact your business. Whether it’s
on immigration, workers compensation or environmental reforms, this is the time for you to
voice your concerns.
