UTICA, New York – The New York State Turfgrass Association (NYSTA) elected its 2012 officers and directors at its January Board of Directors meeting.
Robert Sanderson of Rochester, N.Y., was elected president of NYSTA for 2012. Sanderson is the grounds and landscape manager of Sodexho Campus Services at Nazareth College.
Rick Holfoth of Rochester, N.Y., was elected vice president of NYSTA for 2012. Holfoth is the golf course superintendent for the Country Club of Rochester.
Tim Hahn of Walworth, N.Y., was elected secretary/treasurer. Hahn is the golf course superintendent of Greystone Golf Course, Shadow Pines Golf Course and Shadow Lake Golf Course.
Newly elected directors include: Jim Hornung Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y., and Michael Maffei of Brewster, N.Y. Hornung is the president of Great Lakes Athletic Fields and Elbers Landscape Service. Maffei is the golf course superintendent for Back O’Beyond.
Other members currently serving as directors include: Joseph Potrikus, Greener World Landscape Maintenance; Michael McNamara, Grossinger Golf & Country Club; Craig Yunker, Batavia Turf; Tom Wright, Mohonk Mountain House; Roger Lind, Grassland Equipment & Irrigation; and John Carlone, Meadow Brook Club.Greg Chorvas, Cantine Veterans Sports Complex, will serve as past president on the board of directors.
