LandOpt names top performers

The company honored many contractors in the network at its annual gathering.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – LandOpt held its annual Principals Meeting and Success Celebration in Savannah, Georgia Feb. 9–11. This meeting and celebration, held to recognize the top performers in the LandOpt Network, focused on overarching commitments such as growth, continued success, strategic training, education and coaching in the Green Industry.

Each year, LandOpt recognizes the strongest performers in multiple categories among a peer network of more than 30 landscape contractors from across the United States. David Gallagher, director of success for LandOpt states, “Our mature group of contractors have double digit pre-tax net, which is significantly above industry average. Contractors who participate in the most LandOpt training are usually the ones that bubble to the top,” Gallagher notes.

Contractor and Rookie Contractor of the Year criteria include: performance against plan, transformation, maintenance base growth and training attendance. Eichenlaub, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was the strongest performer and named Contractor of the Year. Rookie Contractor of the Year was awarded to Esterline Landscape Tampa, Florida Branch.

Sales Professional and Rookie Sales Professional of the Year are based on similar criteria. Both are graded on performance against plan – long-term, short-term, and project sales – as well as meetings and proposals booked in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Charley Criswell from Green Earth Santa Rosa, Florida was recognized as Sales Professional of the year, and Greg Miller of SGK Starkville, Mississippi was awarded Rookie Sales Professional of the year.

This year LandOpt initiated a new distinction to the ceremony, the President’s Award. This honor is based on qualitative scores vs. quantifiable scores. It is accomplished through achieving efforts such as leadership, consistency, initiative, commitments upheld and impacting the team vs. individuals. Tony Szczechowski from Pro Edge Lawn Care LTD. out of Holland, Ohio was honored as the very first President’s Award recipient.

LandOpt annual meeting and awards ceremony provides a unique opportunity for the Network’s contractors to come together for several days of learning, sharing best practices and celebrating achievements. According to LandOpt President & CEO Tim Smith, it also creates spirited and friendly competition within the group. “Certainly each contractor in our Network is successful in his/her own right. But to be declared ‘the best of the best’ within this realm is really something special,” he said.
