Tom Tolkacz awarded by TCIA

The CEO of Swingle was given the association's highest honor: the Award of Merit.

DENVER, Colo. – Tom Tolkacz, CEO of Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care, was awarded the Tree Care Industry Association’s (TCIA) highest honor – the Award of Merit.

The award was presented during the Tree Care Industry Association Winter Management Conference in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico in February 2017.

The Award of Merit was designed to recognize those who’ve devoted considerable time and energy to both influencing and benefitting the tree care industry – representing leadership in the field of arboriculture and a long-term commitment to the field.

During Tolkacz’s six-year tenure on the TCIA Board, he infused a fresh perspective on new initiatives and campaigns and played an instrumental role on the nominations task force and the governance task force – both of which involved new processes for identifying and selecting future leaders in the industry.

Tolkacz served on TCIA’s first Ethics Committee, which established the due diligence procedure for conducting investigations and hearings into ethical complaints within the tree care industry.

During this time, he also volunteered as the TCIA representative to the TREE Fund’s board of directors, which also involved serving on their executive committee.

He is actively involved in TCIA’s workforce development efforts in Colorado, where the industry hopes to establish a new two-year arboriculture program at Front Range Community College.

Tolkacz continues to generously give his time and expertise to numerous visiting TCIA members throughout the year, opening the doors of his personal business headquarters to learn from company executives in the areas of finance, operations, marketing and others in order to understand the aspects of running a successful, multi-branch arboriculture business.

Tolkacz has dedicated over 30 years to the tree care industry – currently offering award-winning services to residents across the Front Range of Colorado.
