Cut Above names general manager

Joseph Holleman joined the team following extensive experience in the military.

CHICAGO, Ill. – Joseph Holleman has joined Cut Above Landscaping as general manager, further enhancing the company’s Westmont-based team. Locally owned and operated, Cut Above is committed to serving the Chicago area. 

 
Holleman’s extensive military experience provides him the leadership skills necessary to perform the role of general manager. Serving as a United States Marine officer since 2009, he has been deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom and to the Republic of Georgia as an advisor to the Georgian military. Currently, he is active in the Infantry Reserves. His diverse experience as an infantry company commander, foreign military advisor and company executive officer required him to successfully coordinate and implement long-term planning, unit supervision and day-to-day logistics as well as develop and deliver large-scale training. Holleman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in mass communication and media art. He currently attends the University of Illinois, where he is working toward a Bachelor of History degree. Additionally, as a part of his transition into his new position, he will participate in LandOpt General Manager training. 
 
In his new role, Holleman’s directly responsible for leadership and management of the Cut Above team. He is committed to prioritizing long-term organizational growth, which includes the eventual addition of multiple locations in and around the Chicago area. Additionally, Holleman works with the sales and account teams to enhance customer experience, set clear, attainable objectives and achieve company goals. Holleman believes in creating and executing a tangible plan and adjusting as needed. Indicating his dedication to follow-through he states, “Overall, in order to achieve a goal, you have to be very committed to the process.”
