Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville police say a shooting at a Southside business was motivated by a perceived lack of respect.
24-year-old Ezequiel Lopez showed up at B&L Landscape Company on Spanner Road Wednesday morning with the intent of shooting his former supervisor, 55-year-old Andrew Little, according to JSO. Lopez allegedly hit Little once in the back and tried to shoot him again after they had a brief struggle and Little went down.
JSO says Lopez’ gun apparently jammed, at which point he ran out to his car.
“It was just a matter of seconds to minutes- the shooting, the struggle, and then police arriving,” said JSO Lt. Steve Gallaher.
Police were able to block off the only entrance/exit to the business, so Lopez drove to the back where he was apprehended without further incident.
Little died on scene. JSO said he had been with the business 20 years.
